TURNED WOODEN MILLS

for Salt & Pepper

Turning spice mills is a particularly technical process. Numerous stepped holes have to be drilled precisely into the wooden blank so that the grinder runs perfectly smoothly later on. Sculpture or kitchen utensil - I want to combine both. I often lend the shape a figurative quality without losing sight of functionality. The heart of every pepper mill is its grinder. I use 2 grinders for my spice mills. The Danish company Crushgrind produces high-quality ceramic grinders. Strässler manufactures precision grinders from special steel in Switzerland.

CRUSHGRIND

the legendary ceramic grinder

The Danish company Crushgrind has been manufacturing ceramic grinders since 1994 and has been an absolute pioneer in this field ever since. The mechanism works with an intelligent click-in system that requires neither glue nor screws for installation. This allows maximum design freedom and eliminates the need for a metal knob on the head of the grinder. The grinder runs powerfully and precisely and is easy to clean. It is infinitely adjustable and retains the setting permanently. The grinders are suitable for grinding salt, pepper and all other dry spices. The manufacturer simulated household use over 200 years.

STRÄSSLER

precision grinders made from special steel

The Strässler company specializes in precision mechanics. The Swiss manufacturer has been producing kits for pepper mills since 1957. Since then, the name Strässler has stood for the highest quality in the manufacture of high-quality grinding mechanisms. These are made from hardened special steel and are characterized not only by their high durability but also by their enormous grinding capacity. The pepper is finely chopped and not crushed, as is the case with a ceramic grinder. Insiders and professional chefs prefer this highest quality grinder.
